Pour it out

Combine Ksepana Mudra with a flowing Gate Pose to release negativity.

Negative thoughts and feelings and emotions have the tendency to creep up on us and build up without us realizing that they are starting to take over our entire systems - body, mind, breath, soul. Before that starts to happen or as soon as you notice it happening, play with this practice that incorporates movement, breath, and mudra to pour it out.

Gate Pose (Parighasana) Flow with Ksepana Mudra:

*I love incorporating this mudra with this flow because they just feel so right together!

Ksepana Mudra is the gesture of pouring out and letting go, and the flow through this Gate Pose variation makes it feel like you are doing just that! Think, "I'm a little teapot." ;-) To do Ksepana Mudra:

  • Clasp your hands and extend your index fingers.

  • Cross your thumbs and place each in the hollow space between your hands.

To do the Gate Pose Flow:

  • Come to a kneeling position and then extend one leg out to the side with your toes pointing forward.

  • Extend your arms upward and clasp your hands in Ksepana Mudra.

  • Inhale and then exhale and lean to the side of your bent leg as if you are pouring out.

  • Continue ~ Inhale & rise up, Exhale and pour out.

Together, the mindful flow and the mudra work to help negative energy pour out and flow away. In return, fresh positive energy can be poured into your cup, drawn in, and absorbed.
